It's not all soul destroying

After many months of waiting, last night I finally managed to see Garden State, despite it only being shown in one cinema in the West Midlands! I've wanted to see it for ages and I've been reading Zach Braff's Blog since I heard about the film.

After I'd watched it, it reminded me of something though. Since I've figured out in a round about way what I want to do with my life, I've wanted to make a film. Not just any film I've already got one on the go plus a few more in the pipeline. But I've had an idea for something that's loosely based around my own life. Not a biographical tale, but more to do with the mood of my life and how I feel about stuff.

It's kind of vague I know, but that's the problem I can't put my finger on what I want the movie to be. I have no structure, no plot, just a mood or feel for the film. Anyhoo I think it's time I got cracking with it and try to figure out what it's going to be.

As far as the course goes though, everything is moving along swimmingly. The first semester is over and my grades have been very good, all my work has been in on time and I'm loving it. If you remember me mentioning it the project I'm working on at the moment is called "A Superheroes Day Off." I'm in the pre production stage, the script is done, I have my actors and locations sorted and all that's left to do now is sort out the schedule and a few other paper related tasks and I'll be ready to shoot in January.

I've got a few other projects that I want to get moving too. One is a film that is based around a character my Brother in law and his friend Phil came up with called "The Fear." It's about that horrible paranoid feeling you get after a heavy night out drinking. Basically they took that feeling and personified it into a character. That's going to be something we'll do on the sidelines.

The other is related to my course. There's a module we have to do where we can make either a music video or a documentary, I've decided to do the documentary. In march me, John and Roy are going to walk from one sode of Hadrian's Wall to the other, so I thought it would be cool to see if I can get a documentary out of it.

And the house is ours!! Yay, I can't wait to move up there now, mainly so I can get a new job. I'm sitting in the office at work right now typing this because i've been lumbered with more work as soon they knew i'd broke up from uni and couldn't use that as an excuse anymore. I kind of feel like a small part of my soul dies every day and I'll never get it back, But hey it's xmas in 4 days so it can't all be bad!
